November 2010
A small number of the Foundation's team, including Jenn Franco, were invited to attend a Road Trauma Victim Remembrance Day in Gosford - this was kindly hosted by Enough is Enough. Although a painful event for many it did help some a small amount in the healing process. Photos can be seen by clicking here.
October 2010
Representatives from the Foundation met with the NSW Motor Accidents Authority to ensure there is still a need in the community for an Information Pack for the victims of road trauma and, if so, the best way to deliver it to victims. The need was confirmed and a possible delivery mechanism is now being developed.
You may be able to help Jenny now...
Did you see, hear or do you know anything about the incident? Please contact us and leave detailed information, or call Miranda Police (on 02 9541 3899) immediately.
Welcome to the TrueLight Foundation's website.
The TrueLight Foundation is about developing better support for surviving victims of road trauma in Australia.
One such victim is Jenny (Jenn) Franco. Early in 2007 she was dragged 150m by a car and then left for dead. Fortunately Jenn won the battle for survival but, like others, she will live with the impairments resulting from this incident for the remainder of her life.
Jenn has discovered that there is minimal support available for the adversely affected victims of road trauma. She is keen for Australians to pull together and develop a far better support infrastructure for those who've survived road trauma. Areas of the support mechanism which require development, for both the victims of crime and their families, include access to respite, transportation assistance, emotional support networks, and counselling.
